Many Colorado fans of Chris Pratt and Anna Farris were sad to learn of their separation earlier this year. Unfortunately, it appears as if a reconciliation is not in their future. Both have recently filed for divorce and reportedly many legal discussions are being discussed such as an agreement on child custody, addressing their prenuptial agreement and property division.
Although Pratt and Farris have separately filed for divorce, Pratt apparently made the first move. He listed that the end of their eight years of marriage was due to "irreconcilable differences." He is seeking joint custody of the 5-year-son he shares with Farris.
Farris followed Pratt's lead and also filed for divorce. She also has requested joint custody but has additionally asked for child support. Reportedly, she has already moved on and has been rumored to be in a new relationship with a crew member from a recent film project. Up to this point in the process, Pratt and Farris appear to have maintained an amicable co-parenting relationship.
Fortunately, most couples in Colorado do not have to worry about the details of their marriage and the end of it to be discussed in the news media. It still is a painful a painful and complicated process for any couple. When children, wealth and shared property are involved, the separation may be more difficult. Family law attorneys have experience with negotiating child custody, financial support when appropriate and the amount of property the client wishes to maintain. Additionally, attorneys remain an asset to many couples following the divorce if and when agreements need to be amended.
